Bettina Mirkes

I completed my training as a bank clerk in Trier in 1993 and immediately afterwards completed further training as a banking specialist on a part-time basis. Since 1994, I have worked at three different banks in Luxembourg, most recently spending 18 years at the branch of what is now HCOB Bank AG (as of September 2025). In addition to working in internal audit and private customer loans, my focus was largely on international loan administration and distressed/workout loans. In 2018, I decided to devote more time to my family, especially my son, who was born in 2010, and left the banking sector for a year. 

In search of a new challenge, I moved into the private sector in 2019 and successfully set up the administration and finance departments at two Luxembourg start-ups. I joined Breuer Tax & Accounting as KYC and Compliance Officer in September 2025. I am familiar with the challenges of KYC and compliance activities from the client side, which means I am well placed to provide excellent support and assistance to both my colleagues and our clients. Privately, we are a soccer-mad family. I know pretty much all the sports fields in the region, and when professional football beckons, we extend our radius to the Bundesliga Stadium in Cologne.
